In Pakistan, the scope of Doctor of Nutrition and Dietetics is estimated to rise even more in the near future. However, in the private sector, the reach of DND is much greater, and all DND doctors may easily find work there, as opposed to the public sector. Doctors of Nutrition and Dietetics work in the private sector in greater numbers than in the public sector. With the growth of fast meals and junk foods, our digestive systems are slowing down and we are becoming more susceptible to a variety of nutrition and dietetics disorders, we are turning to DND physicians for a suitable diet plan and good nutrition so that we may live a healthy lifestyle.
How to become a dietician and nutritionist
There are various degrees related to nutrition namely Bachelor’s in Food and Nutrition, Doctor of Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences, Human Diet and Nutrition. These are similar in some ways as they circle around the same subjects but the duration of the degree may vary. For taking any of the following degree programs you have to complete FSc pre-medical with minimum 50% marks for 5 years and 4 years degree program. You can continue further studies and specialise by pursuing Master and Doctorate degrees in nutrition.
